Clemens Crossing Assistant Principal Named Outstanding AP for Maryland

Sonia Hurd, the assistant principal at Clemens Crossing Elementary School, has been named the 2021 National Outstanding Assistant Principal for Maryland by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).

Hurd was selected based on her exceptional leadership; respect among students, colleagues, parents, and the community at large; and for setting high expectations for school staff and students.

Founded in 1921, NAESP is a professional organization serving elementary and middle school principals and other education leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and overseas. Its National Outstanding Assistant Principal award program honors assistant principals who are doing a superb job in their roles, promotes educational excellence for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade schooling, and calls attention to the fundamental importance of the assistant principal.
