HCPSS Recognized as a 2020 Best Community for Music Education

April 7th, 2020

The Howard County Public School System has been recognized as one of the 2020 Best Communities for Music Education Districts by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.

HCPSS is one of six Maryland school districts and 754 districts across the United States being recognized with the award for 2020. This is the fifth consecutive year HCPSS has received the award.

The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. For more information and a list of winners, visit https://www.nammfoundation.org/articles/bcme-2020-districts.
