HCPSS Superintendent Martirano Honored With Friend of the Farmer Award

Howard County Public School System Superintendent Michael J. Martirano was honored with the Friend of the Farmer award at the Howard County Farm Bureau Legislative Banquet, held April 11, 2019. Dr. Martirano will be presented with the award at a future event.

Martirano was recognized for the school system’s efforts to bring back the Agricultural Science Academy to HCPSS this past year, as part of its overall commitment to promoting agricultural and environmental opportunities and awareness for its students.

The annual Howard County Farm Bureau Legislative Banquet provides farm bureau members an opportunity to discuss current matters relating to legislation and government on a local, state and national level.
