HCPSS Students Learn About Security Clearance Opportunities

February 14th, 2019

A guest lecturer speaks to a computer science class.

This week, local industry officials are speaking to three HCPSS computer science classes on the skills and decision-making necessary to obtain a security clearance–a key credential for careers in information technology, engineering, cybersecurity and more. Students learned about job opportunities and steps to become clearable in the future through guest lectures by consultants and representatives of Fort Meade Alliance, Next Century Corporation and KeyW.

The programming was developed through the Superintendent’s Program Innovation Advisory Board, which connects HCPSS students with industry leaders, experiential learning opportunities, industry trends and post-high school supports.
