Hanover Hills Elementary Hosts Ribbon Cutting, Aug. 29

August 22nd, 2018

Staff, students, families, community members and the media are invited to visit the new Hanover Hills Elementary School for a ribbon cutting ceremony and tours on Wednesday, August 29. Hanover Hills is a $45 million building designed to accommodate 788 students in Pre‑Kindergarten through Grade 5. The school—adjacent to Thomas Viaduct Middle School in Oxford Square, a Howard County “green” neighborhood—accommodates the increased student population along the Route 1 corridor.

Hanover Hills Elementary School is the latest example of HCPSS’ commitment to sustainability, working toward earning a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold designation for the building. HCPSS is one of only two school systems in the state to pursue all new school construction and full systemic renovations to be LEED Certified or better.
