HCPSS Seeks Members For Secondary Language Arts Advisory Committee
November 3rd, 2016
The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) invites citizens and 11th grade students to serve on the HCPSS Secondary Language Arts Advisory Committee, supporting, advocating and making recommendations for continuous improvement in the classroom. The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 11 and the first meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
The Secondary Language Arts Advisory Committee consists of teachers, administrators, students, parents and community members. Five citizen members and five student members will be selected for the committee. Membership is for two years (2016–2018). There will be three to four committee meetings per year. If selected, you will receive an email with additional information. Interested citizens and students should complete this online form.
Committee members provide input and assist in the development of language arts programs and resources at the middle and high school levels. They support and advocate for programs and initiatives in a variety of forums, and explore with staff ways to identify and utilize available community resources to enrich language arts experiences for all students. The committee also designs and implements programs that educate the community on the nature of effective language arts instructions and methods of promoting language arts growth in the home.
