Atholton High School Wind Ensemble to Perform Send-Off Concert Before Trip to National Festival, March 2
February 24th, 2016
Wednesday, March 2, 7 p.m., University of Maryland Baltimore County Performing Arts and Humanities Building, Linehan Concert Hall, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, 21250. Admission is free.
As part of the trip to the National Concert Band Festival the Atholton High School Wind Ensemble will give a send-off concert. The concert will give the community an opportunity to hear the ensemble’s student members’ hard work, and provide the students a performance experience similar to the festival before actually heading to Indianapolis. HCPSS Superintendent Renee A. Foose will serve as emcee for the event.
The Atholton High School Wind Ensemble was accepted to the prestigious National Concert Band Festival, part of the Music For All National Festival, which will be held in March in Indianapolis.
Music for All is one of the nation’s largest and most influential organizations advocating for music education. The Atholton Ensemble is one of only 49 high school and middle school concert band and percussion ensembles from across the country, and the only group representing Maryland.
The concert is Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m., at the University of Maryland Baltimore County Performing Arts and Humanities Building, Linehan Concert Hall, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.
