Board of Education to Host Board Candidate Information Session, January 27, 2016

The Howard County Board of Education invites the community to attend a Board Candidate Information Session on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 7 p.m., in the Boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

Kathryn F. Blumsack, Director of Board Development, will conduct the session on behalf of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education. The filing deadline for all elected offices is February 3, 2016.

The session will include an overview of Board member duties, roles and responsibilities; the Board-Superintendent relationship; characteristics of effective Board members; and other related topics. Registration is not required, but interested attendees are requested to contact the Board office, khanks@hcpss.org or 410–313–7194, to ensure adequate materials are prepared.
