HCPSS Student Receives AP Academic Distinction

October 16th, 2015

River Hill High School graduate Clark C. Demaree is one of two Maryland recipients of the 2015 AP Scholar Award. The state AP Scholar Award acknowledges students who have earned the most scores of 3 or higher statewide and the highest average score (at least 3.5) on all AP exams taken. The award is presented annually to one male student and one female student from each state and the District of Columbia.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while in high school and earn college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP exams. The AP Scholar Awards are academic distinctions that students may cite among their credentials on applications, resumes, etc.
