Howard County Music Educator is Grammy Award Semifinalist

October 13th, 2015

Richard McCready, Director of Music Technology at River Hill High School, is a semifinalist for the 2016 Grammy Music Educator of the Year award. He is one of just 25 national semifinalists, and is the only semifinalist representing Maryland.

The Recording Academy and The Grammy Foundation present the award each year to recognize an educator who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education, and who demonstrates broad commitment to music education in schools. This year, 4,500 nominations were submitted from all 50 states.

The finalists will be announced in December. The winner will be announced during the nationally televised 58th Annual Grammy awards on February 15, 2016.

McCready was named the Technology Institute for Music Educators 2013 Mike Kovins TI:ME Teacher of the Year Award.
