HCPSS Wins Awards for Supporting Employee Wellness

The American Heart Association has recognized Howard County Public School System for its commitment to workplace wellness. The association annually recognizes employers who go above and beyond when it comes to the health of their employees by demonstrating progressive leadership and concern for their staff.

The school system was recognized as a Platinum Fit-Friendly Worksite and won a Worksite Innovation Award for its extensive employee wellness program, Commit To Be Fit. The program offers a wide range of services to support employees in attaining fitness goals, and helps to contain costs associated with employee health benefits.

Employee engagement and well-being are central elements of the HCPSS Vision 2018 strategic plan. The school system values its employees and recognizes the importance of programs that support their health and wellness.
