HCPSS Celebrates 9th Annual Choose Civility Poster Contest Winners
April 27th, 2015
In conjunction with the 2014 Choose Civility Symposium, Howard County students were invited to design a poster illustrating the theme “Civility in Sports.” This year’s contest was presented in partnership with Choose Civility, the Howard County Library System, and the Columbia Association Art Center.
All of the students who participated work hard every day to show kindness and respect in all walks of life, and specifically in sports. The students shared their imagination, creativity, and artistic talent.

The winner of the kindergarten–2nd grade category was Bellows Spring Elementary School first grader, Tejasvi Suresh.
In the Grades 3–5 category, the winner was Elkridge Elementary School 3rd grader Reynaldo Fernandez.
The Grades 6–8 winner was Elkridge Landing Middle School 8th grader Star Fernandez.
And the Grand Prize Winner, from Centennial High School, was ninth grader Julie Wang.
The winning students were formally recognized at the Howard County Board of Education meeting on April 23, 2015.
