Two New Partnerships Promote Oral Health and Career Readiness

January 15th, 2015

The Howard County Public School System has partnered with the Howard County Dental Association and the Howard County Dental Hygienists’ Association to promote students’ good oral health practices. The partnerships will be formalized with an official partnership signing Thursday, January 15 during the Howard County Dental Association meeting at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel, 10207 Wincopin Circle.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, the Howard County Dental Association will provide oral health care prevention and intervention presentations for students at participating schools, including instruction for students receiving special education services. Both organizations will also provide educational resources on the importance of preventative dental care, and will collaborate with HCPSS Academy of Health Professions staff to offer internships to qualified students and present information about dental careers.

In line with Vision 2018, these partnerships support student well-being and preparation for specialized careers.
