HCPSS Schools/Students Excel at JHU Model UN Competition

Students from Centennial, Hammond, and Atholton high schools competed against more than 2,000 students from around the world at the Johns Hopkins University Model United Nations competition in February.
Model U.N. is a competition in which students represent nations of the world on various U.N. committees. The teams from Centennial and Hammond were the only Maryland schools to receive awards in this year’s competition.
Several students also won individual awards:
· Jessica Quinter, Hammond HS, Best Delegate for the Security Council,
· Alex Quinter, Hammond HS, Honorable Mention as Alexander Grushko.
· Daniel Park, Centennial HS, Honorable Mention for his role on the Paris Peace Committee
· Parth Contractor, Centennial HS, Honorable Mention representing Meiun in the Quad Sohei (Specialized Committee).
