HCPSS Redistricting Meetings Rescheduled

The Board of Education rescheduled upcoming meetings on middle school redistricting, due to scheduling conflicts.

The new meeting schedule is as follows:

• Tuesday, Oct. 22: 4 p.m., Board Meeting; 7:30 p.m., Presentation of Attendance Area Adjustment Plans
• Tuesday, Oct. 29: 7 p.m., Attendance Area Adjustment Public Hearing I
• Wednesday, Oct. 30: 7:30 p.m. Attendance Area Adjustment Work Session I
• Monday, Nov. 4: 4 p.m., Board Meeting; 7:30 p.m., Attendance Area Adjustment Public Hearing II
• Friday, Nov. 15: 10 a.m., Attendance Area Adjustment Work Session II
• Tuesday, Nov. 19: 7:30 p.m., Attendance Area Adjustment Work Session III
• Thursday, Nov. 21, 4 p.m., Board Meeting; 7:30 p.m., Approval of Attendance Area Adjustment Plans

In August 2014, the Howard County Public School System will open its 20th middle school in Hanover, Md. Attendance and boundary lines must be adjusted in preparation for opening this new school, and the HCPSS strives to be efficient, equitable and strategic throughout this process.
