HCPSS Delegation to Visit China

Howard County Public School System Superintendent Dr. Renee A. Foose, Board of Education Chairman Frank Aquino, and Board members Ellen Flynn Giles and Ann DeLacy have been selected to join the College Board’s 2013 Chinese Bridge Delegation, a one-week educational program in China, Nov. 6-14.

The program is intended to help educators strengthen educational programs and partnerships with Chinese educational institutions. Highlights include school visits, cultural activities and educational workshops.

The HCPSS delegation will be given opportunities to:

• Visit Chinese K-12 schools and postsecondary institutions, meet with Chinese educators, observe classes and interact with students
• Establish meaningful partnerships with Chinese education institutions and network with international colleagues
• Attend presentations on best practices and gather resources to build and support Chinese language and culture programs
• Experience China firsthand
