Leadership Howard County Partnership to Promote Leadership and Community Service

Leadership Howard County has partnered with the Howard County Public School System to provide leadership development skills and community service opportunities for both students and staff. The longstanding relationship will be formalized with an official partnership signing Tues., Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Columbia Waterside Restaurant, 10207 Wincopin Circle, Columbia.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Leadership Howard County will provide opportunities for students to gain important leadership skills by participating in Leadership U, a program for high school juniors. Leadership Howard County will also encourage Leadership U graduate and HCPSS staff participation in Leadership U program planning.

HCPSS will provide learning enhancement support for various Leadership programs and host participants from Leadership Premier, a leadership program for established professionals, during Principal Shadow Day.

Howard County Board of Education members Ann DeLacy, Sandra French and Ellen Flynn Giles will join Leadership Howard County Board Chair Mary Cannon, Board Vice Chair Kyri Jacobs, President & CEO Stacie Hunt and HCPSS School Counseling and Related Services representatives to sign the partnership agreement at the August 20 event.
