HCPSS Partners with the Drama Learning Center and the Red Branch Theatre Company

January 21st, 2015

The Howard County Public School System is partnering with the Drama Learning Center (DLC) and the Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) to foster a life-long love of theater among students. The partnerships will be formalized with an official partnership signing Thursday, January 22 at the Sheraton Columbia Waterside Restaurant, 10207 Wincopin Circle, Columbia.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, the DLC and RBTC will collaborate with the HCPSS Fine Arts Office to bring productions to elementary and middle schools and to support school events with thematic entertainment. Both organizations also will provide external learning experiences and internship opportunities for high school students interested in exploring careers in theater. In line with Vision 2018, these partnerships support student competence in the arts and enrich the school environment through volunteerism.

Howard County Board of Education Members Ellen Flynn Giles and Christine O’Connor will join HCPSS Fine Arts Coordinator Gino Molfino, Drama Learning Center Owner and Red Branch Theatre Company Co-Founder Stephanie Lynn Williams and Drama Learning Center Resident Music Director and Red Branch Theatre Company Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes to sign the formal partnership agreement at the January 22 event.

The Red Branch Theatre Company is dedicated to fostering a life long love of theater in its audiences through professional performances and a passionate acting company.

The Drama Learning Center provides students with the guidance and training needed to gain self-confidence, self-expression, a sense of commitment, and a love for the arts.
