June 3rd, 2026
Mt. Hebron High School (MHHS) placed first in the recent National Personal Finance Challenge championship in Atlanta. MHHS’ four-person team, composed of graduating seniors Pranav Boreddy, Joseph Jeong, Daksh Mathapati, and Vishva Rao, advanced through state and national rounds before earning the top national honor.
“Mt. Hebron’s victory highlights both the students’ individual talent and the strength of the school’s nationally recognized economics and finance program. Their achievement also underscores the growing importance of financial literacy education at a time when young people face increasingly complex decisions about college, careers, debt, saving, investing, and long-term financial security,” says MHHS teacher Vann Prime, who coached the team.
“By finishing first out of 28,000 participants nationwide, Mt. Hebron’s team brought home one of the most significant student academic championships in the country, and added another remarkable achievement to the school’s record of excellence in economics and personal finance competition,” he adds.
Organized by the Council for Economic Education, the National Personal Finance Challenge offers high school students the opportunity to build and demonstrate their knowledge of financial literacy, including earning income, spending, saving, investing, managing credit, and managing risk.
