March 18th, 2026

Thirty-one Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) students have been recognized as 2026 Carson Scholars for demonstrating outstanding commitment to academics, leadership and serving others. The HCPSS honorees include 12 first-time Carson Scholars and 19 Recognized (returning) Scholars.

Established in 1994, the Carson Scholars program recognizes and rewards students in grades 4-11 in the United States who strive for academic excellence (3.75 GPA or higher) and demonstrate a strong commitment to their community.

First-time Scholars receive a monetary college scholarship. Recognized Carson Scholars have previously been awarded a Carson scholarship, maintained high academic standards, and continued to show strong commitment to their communities.
