Middle School 2026-2027 Course Registration, Feb. 5 – Feb. 18, 2026

Middle school course selection for the 2026-2027 academic year will open for current 5-7 grade students Thursday, February 5, 2026 8:00 AM, and run through Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 8:00 AM.
Beginning Feb. 5, students/families may view teachers’ course recommendations, and submit course requests and alternate requests by logging into HCPSS Connect Synergy, selecting Course Request from the left panel, and following the directions online.
Please note:
- Guides on how to complete Course Requests are available online.
- Students and their parents/guardians should use the Middle School Course Catalog 2026-27 to review course selections, taking careful note of descriptions and prerequisites.
- Students and/or families can adjust a teacher course recommendation by using the dropdown to select the preferred course level. Before making any adjustments, it is advised that you speak with the teacher that made the course recommendation. This conversation can help clarify the expectations and demands of courses, ensuring that your choice aligns with your academic goals and abilities.
- Students will select course requests and alternates.
- Rising 6th Grade Families (Current 5th Grade) must add one course in the Primary Request section. Additionally two (2) courses must be added to the Alternate Requests section in priority order. Alternates are courses that replace your primary choice if there is a scheduling conflict or if a course is not available. Note that these are course requests and placement is not guaranteed.
- Rising 7th/8th Grade (Current 6th/7th grade) must add two courses in the Primary Request Section. One of these courses must meet the fine arts requirement (Band, Chorus, Orchestra, General Music, Theater, or Visual Arts Studio). Additionally two courses must be added to the Alternate Requests section in priority order. Alternates are courses that replace your primary choice if there is a scheduling conflict or if a course is not available. Note that these are course requests and placement is not guaranteed.
- If you want to change a course and there is not an option available in the drop down menu, parents/guardians should download and complete the Middle School Course Change Request Form and submit a paper copy to their child’s school counselor. Forms received during the course registration period will receive priority during scheduling. Requests received after the course request window is closed will be accommodated only if space is available.
Important Dates:
- Feb. 5, 2026: Course registration opens at 8:00 AM.
- Feb. 18, 2026: Course registration closes at 8:00 AM.
- Feb. 5 – Feb. 25, 2026:
- Current 5th graders will meet with their school counselors to review student course requests through scheduled counselor/student appointments as needed.
- Current 6th-7th graders will meet with their school counselors to review student course requests through scheduled counselor/student appointments as needed.
- Spring 2026: Students and families will have access to their list of registered courses by the end of the current school year. It is critical that families review this list to ensure all course selections are accurate.
- August 2026: Final 2026-2027 student schedules will be available prior to the start of the school year.
