Reservoir HS Student to Serve as Maryland Delegate to U.S. Senate Youth Program
January 21st, 2026
Reservoir High School senior Jeremy Wong has been chosen as one of two Maryland delegates to the U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP). Wong will represent the state during the USSYP Washington Week, this March in Washington, D.C. While there, he will join a delegation of 104 student leaders from across the country for a week of intensive study and discussion on government and public affairs. He will also engage directly with senators, cabinet members, and other national leaders. In addition, he will receive a scholarship toward undergraduate studies.
Delegates and alternates are selected by state departments of education after nomination by teachers and principals. The chief state school officer for each jurisdiction confirms the final selection.
Established in 1962, USSYP provides a unique opportunity for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service to gain firsthand insight into the democratic process.
