Free Caregiver Wellness Workshops, January-June 2026

All HCPSS parents/guardians are invited to take part in a series of free, virtual workshops, held in partnership with Backpack Healthcare designed to help you care for your child and yourself. Each session focuses on practical tools, mental health tips, and strategies to support your family’s well-being.
Session attendees will:
- Receive expert advice from licensed therapists
- Build a stronger connection with your child
- Learn how to care for your own mental wellness
- Connect with other caregivers in a supportive space
Workshops are held the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 6-7:00 p.m. via Zoom. A list of upcoming workshops is included below. Register online.
- Jan. 22: Cultural and Parenting Styles – Learn about diverse parenting styles and how to navigate cultural differences to strengthen family bonds and support positive caregiving.
- Feb. 12: Learning about Depression – Learn to recognize the signs of depression, offer support, and connect loved ones to care—promoting understanding, empathy, and mental wellness.
- Feb. 26: The Resilient Mindset – Learn how to build mental strength, adapt to challenges, and support your well-being to stay strong through life’s ups and downs.
- March 12: Crisis Communication and Effective Listening – Learn to stay calm, listen effectively, and provide support during challenging moments.
- March 26: Grief and Loss – Learn healthy ways to process grief, find support, and build resilience while fostering healing and hope through compassionate caregiving.
- April 9: Identity Self Discovery and Emotional Resilience – Explore personal identity, build self-awareness, and strengthen emotional resilience to better navigate the challenges of caregiving.
- April 23: Rebuilding Bridges – Learn strategies to repair and strengthen strained relationships, fostering trust, understanding, and meaningful connection.
- May 14: Healthy Friendships and Boundaries – Discover how to build supportive friendships by setting and respecting healthy boundaries, enhancing emotional well-being and balance.
- May 28: Mental Health Resources – Learn how to find and use mental health resources, access support services, and navigate the care system to support yourself and others.
- June 11: Cyberbullying and Safety – Learn how to spot, prevent, and respond to cyberbullying, while creating a safe and positive online environment for kids and families.
- June 25: Parent Support Networks – Learn to build strong, balanced relationships that enhance resilience and well-being in caregiving
