HCPSS Recognized as Best Community for Music Education for Eighth Consecutive Year
April 26th, 2023
The Howard County Public School System once again has been recognized as a Best Communities for Music Education Districts by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
This is the eighth consecutive year HCPSS has received the award. HCPSS is one of only eleven Maryland school districts and 830 districts across the United States being recognized with the award for 2023.
“We are always thrilled to receive this distinction as Howard County is a tremendous ecosystem of arts supporters and enthusiasts. Our teachers, students and community make Howard County a vibrant place to dream big and do the work to actualize our dreams,” says Terry Eberhardt, HCPSS’ Music Coordinator.
The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. More information and additional best communities are available online.
