Proposed HCPSS Instructional Materials Available for Review, January 4-22, 2021

Several instructional materials recommended for use for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Grade 6-8 courses will be available for review from January 4-22, 2021. The materials may be viewed by appointment only, at the Department of Education, 10910 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, or by requesting online access.
The proposed materials include:
- Impact Level 1, textbook and associated workbook, published by National Geographic Learning/Cengage
- Impact Foundational Level, textbook and associated workbook, published by National Geographic Learning/Cengage
Community members interested in reviewing the materials should email Deborah_puhak@hcpss.org to request an appointment (on-site) or for online access and additional information.
All citizens may review the materials. Expressions of approval or requests for reevaluation of an instructional material may be submitted using the online form.
Citizens requesting on-site evaluation will be required to follow HCPSS, Howard County Department of Health, Maryland Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) health guidelines, which include wearing a face mask covering the mouth and nose, social distancing at a minimum of six feet apart, and not gathering in large groups.
