HCPSS Summer Meal Service Extended Through August 28, 2020

June 15th, 2020

UPDATE: July 28, 2020

With the start of the 2020-2021 school year pushed back, HCPSS will extend its summer meal program through Friday, August 28.

Please Note!

Effective Monday, August 3, summer meal distribution sites will change. Meals will no longer be served at Longfellow Elementary School, Howard County Library System Central Branch, or Howard County Library System East Columbia Branch. New meal sites will be opened at the Long Reach Village Center and the North Laurel Community Center.

The Howard County Public School System announces its free summer food service program to meet the growing need to feed hungry children and families in Howard County and fill the nutritional gap over the summer months. Please note, some summer locations are different from the spring meals program, which ran through June 30.

The meal sites will serve Grab-and-Go summer meals from July 1 through August 28, Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participants will be given two meals, breakfast and lunch, for that day. Friday distributions at school-based locations only will include meals to sustain children through the weekend.

Meals will be provided to anyone age 18 and under and/or any HCPSS student, regardless of age. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Children do not need to be present; parents/guardians may pick up meals for their child(ren). There is no application, enrollment or fees to participate in this program.
