Howard County School Health Council General Meeting, December 4, 2019

Wednesday, December 4, 4-6 p.m., Howard County Library System Elkridge branch, Belmont Meeting Room, 6540 Washington Blvd., Elkridge

The public is invited to a general meeting of the Howard County School Health Council. The Council will hear a presentation on the county’s suicide prevention program by Colleen Nester from the Howard County Health Department, and an update on the new MSDE health education regulations presented by Tempe Beall, HCPSS Physical Education and Health Instructional Facilitator. Community members are welcome to ask questions and provide feedback.

The Howard County School Health Council (HC-SHC) is a state-mandated advisory council led by community members and combining representatives from the school system, Howard County Health Department, PTA Council of Howard County, Howard County Association of Student Councils, and other community groups. The Council reports to both the HCPSS Superintendent and the County Health Officer. General Council meetings are held every other month to review various health, safety and wellness policies and programs, make recommendations, and provide input.
