Middle and high school students are invited to attend an information session on the HCPSS Career and Technology Education Career Academies. Interested parties need only attend one session.
Attendees will learn how the CTE Career Academies provide high school students with opportunities to earn college credit, scholarships and industry certifications, participate in worksite and mentorship experiences, and become create problem solvers by participating in hands-on project-based learning. Information will also be provided about the Air Force JROTC program located at Oakland Mills High School, which is open to all Howard County high school students.
Career Academy programs are offered in more than 20 different career fields, including agricultural science, aerospace engineering, cybersecurity networking, health professions, homeland security and more. Each program is designed to prepare high school students to be college and career ready and to meet the demands of the 21st century global economy.
