Council of Chief State School Officers to Visit HCPSS Schools

The Council of Chief State School Officers will visit two Howard County public schools on Tuesday, May 17. The group will experience math instruction at Bollman Bridge Elementary School and Hammond Middle School.

The purpose of the visit is to expose state level math experts to what is happening in real classrooms around the country. The council seeks to understand the challenges HCPSS schools and the school system are facing, and what they are doing to solve those challenges.

The Council of Chief State School Officers is an organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions.
